Cookie policy
This policy lists every cookie and piece of browser storage Perfumebuddy uses, what it does, how long it lasts and how to change your mind. We keep cookies to the minimum the site needs: nothing beyond strictly necessary cookies runs before you give consent.

Perfumebuddy (perfumebuddy.co.uk) is the controller of the data described here. You can reach us at contact@perfumebuddy.co.uk for anything to do with cookies or data protection. A project of Samtec Inc.
How we ask for consent
On your first visit we show a consent banner before anything non-essential is set. You can accept all, reject all, or pick categories individually — rejecting is as easy as accepting. We never preload analytics or affiliate tracking on the hope that you will consent later.
Your choice is recorded with its date and version for accountability, and we re-ask after six months, in line with UK ICO guidance. You can withdraw or change consent at any time using the button below or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
Strictly necessary cookies
These keep the site secure and working. They cannot be switched off, and they never track you across other websites.

Your colour-theme choice is stored on our servers with your account, not in a browser cookie, so it is not listed above.
Preference storage
Your wishlist and the products in your comparison tray are kept in your browser so they survive a page refresh. They are not shared with anyone and are only read by this site.

Measurement cookies (only with consent)
With your consent we record page views, referring source and device type, to see which pages help shoppers. This uses no cookies at all: a random per-tab reference is held only for the length of your browser tab, and no advertising profiles are built or anything sold. If you reject analytics, nothing is recorded.

Affiliate and marketing cookies (only with consent)
With your consent, Awin — our affiliate network — sets tracking cookies so a retailer knows a click came from us and pays commission on a sale. These cookies are also used to measure which listings get clicked.

If you reject marketing cookies, links still work and you still pay the same price — we simply cannot be credited, so no cookies are set by Awin.
Third-party cookies
When you click through to a retailer, that store and its affiliate network may set their own cookies to credit the referral and run their site. Those cookies are covered by the retailer's own privacy and cookie policies, not this one.
How long we keep things
Each cookie's lifetime is listed in the tables above. Your consent record expires after six months and we then ask you again. Everything else in your browser storage stays until you clear it or we change how a feature works.
Your rights
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time — blocking strictly necessary ones will stop sign-in and saved items working. You also have the right to ask what data we hold, get a copy, correct or delete it, and object to processing. Email contact@perfumebuddy.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with our answer.
