- Start from what you already like to smell. If you reach for citrus and clean laundry, browse citrus and fresh scents. If you like bakery warmth, start in gourmand. Woody and amber families suit anyone who wants presence rather than freshness.
- Does the season really matter?
- Heat pushes fragrance off the skin faster, so light citrus and floral scents read cleanly in summer while heavier amber, oud and vanilla compositions hold their shape in cold air. Most people keep two or three bottles and rotate.
- Is eau de parfum better value than eau de toilette?
- Eau de parfum carries more perfume oil, so it usually lasts longer per spray and costs more per bottle. Compare the price per millilitre across retailers before deciding — the same bottle often varies by a wide margin between stores.
