This Elixir concentration of Acqua di Gio from Giorgio Armani adds a spice up top that the purely marine original never had, bergamot, green mandarin and nutmeg opening bright and warmly seasoned. Violet leaf and water notes settle the heart into something green and lightly aquatic, a nod to the original's marine identity. Leather, patchouli, vetiver and labdanum close the foundation dark, dry and unmistakably confident. Leather and labdanum in the base is the significant departure here, pulling a fragrance famous for freshness toward something considerably darker by the finish.
